Really wonderful. I love gaping snappers. There's something very ominous about that maw.

And silver spirals too? You know my heart!

I just love this. I sincerely want to know if the characters have any history, what their relationships are or do you prefer viewers' create their own?

thanks! I just kinda based it on the way certain animals (in this case a snapping turtle) lure feed- angler fish are another good example. I also wanted to incorporate the symbolism of traditional relationships between the crow and the dead. So basically what we have here is a ghost eating turtle man. and turtles are rich in symbolism too, being the foundation of many convergent creation myths (the 'world turtle';)

thank you for the reply, he is indeed the most awesome ghost-eating-turtle-man I have ever seen, and you might be surprised at how many I've run across!

Crazy good! If someone doesn't profile you in a magazine for this it's because they haven't seen it.

I love how the outer frame has an organic quality clasping the wood with tendril-like roots, then these being repeated it wispy watery ghost. Wonderful piece.

Psychopomps, eat yer hearts out.

The ghosty figure is quite lovely, and the bird-tongue of Mr. Snap is just... bizarre. :D

man, you sure are on a roll with these. at first glance of the turtle-head-guy, i thought of this piece as more of a comedic one, but then i realized it isnt so much so. Great detail especiallt with mr. snappy. it lookes like it must have taken a lot of patience lol

Another awesome piece by one of my favorite new artists. I realize now that the only explanation for your proliferation of top notch work is that you don't sleep and these amazing concepts come to you during sleep deprived hallucinations. Brilliant! On a side note, I once kept a snapper named Sanford. Yours is much better looking.

beautiful detail. looks like it took a long time to paint.
what's the frame made of?
so is the figure predatory? or is he visionary?
great work, sir.
