well...

I've been busy on another artist's project for some months now- Mandy Greer has an upcoming installation in the Belleview Museum of Art (appropriately located in Belleview, WA) and I had to put my own stuff on a back burner for a while to meet her deadline. well, I'm done with that now, which means I'm back on the job here. Look for new submissions coming up, I hope you like some of the new stuff...I'll be revamping some of my older pieces too- they're still in my possession, so it's my perogative. I know some purists and historians look down on that sort of thing, but what the heck. They can buy the pieces and refuse to let me rework them if they like, I don't mind a bit.

is a large scale installation based on symbolism incorporating Greek Mythology and lots of excellent animal reference. It is primarily sculptural in nature incorporating the fiber arts in its construction and surface design.
Most of what i was doing (wait for it- this is good) is crocheting. that's right, just like your grandma. I didn't know how to do it at all before i started on this, and what do you know, i put in more than 500 hours over some months. I guess i got pretty good at it (if i do say so myself) and will actually be incorporating some of it into my own future work....it may be a little while before you see that though, I have a lot of catching up to do here...I'm seriously backlogged on commissions and my own unfinished work.
